Digital Media

I am really enjoying drawing images into my Exquisite Sketchbook so I decided I would like to incorporate it into my digital media brief along with one of my collage pieces. I scanned in different combinations from the sketchbook until I decided on a few I thought would work, they have quite a magical, mysterious and quirky elements.

The first image is a digital illustration I created on photoshop, the rest were my drawings which I edited on photoshop by layering images, changing colours and opacity to create these imaginative pieces which show the creativity of combining different minds and images.

Colour and Collage

I decided to create some more exquisite corpse images this time incorporating collage into the images and adding some colour which is something that always seems to be lacking in my work. Although I didn't go crazy with all the colours because I am still pretty hesitant about straying away from all the pastel and neutural tones, I really like how they turned out!

Exquisite Sketchbook

I decided to create an exquisite corpse sketchbook where all the pages can flip in three ways in different combinations to create wacky images.

Its going to take some time but I'm hoping to eventually fill the sketchbook.

I liked how some of the combinations looked so i decided to do some illustrations on paper.
this is two of my favourite so far

Photography Project

For this project we were asked to take a series of photos using a black and white film. They had to connect or relate to each other somehow whether it was visually or conceptually. I decided to take my photos of body art and body modifications, being in an art college I didn't have to go far to find some great photo opportunities. I really enjoyed this brief especially working in the dark room and processing the photos

Here is how they turned out (the quality isn't great here because I took these photos with my phone but I will scan them in properly when I get the chance)

These are some of the photographs:

Silkscreen

We were split into two groups, half of us in silkscreen and the other half in relief print. This will rotate after Christmas.

It was my first time working with silkscreen so I was excited to get started and learn the process. I created an exquisite corpse drawing with friends which I wanted to use for my silkscreen image. I was a pencil drawing  so I chose some areas to add some colour to fit in with the brief and also make it look more visually appealing.

These are the colour parts of the print before I added the black outlined image

This is my finished silkscreen and I am quite pleased since it was my first time ever to try silkscreen. I had a few little obstacles along the way like the lines being to thin which meant my screen kept getting blocked. That was a bit of a pain but at least I know what to do next time and I wont make that mistake again.
